Get some sun and fresh air. Spend the afternoon in the park, take an evening walk, a nap on the beach, a morning mountain hike.
I know it can be really hard to drink enough water throughout the day but do your best to stay hydrated. In the afternoon, I like to drink @waterloosparkling and @polarseltzer for a fun fuzzy beer substitute. Pour into a fancy glass and add fresh picked mint or a lemon wedge to make it nice.
Reach out to a mental health professional, friend, or family member if you need some extra encouragement or help! There are also so many free mental health resources. Here are a few that have helped me:
- @anxietyanddepression_adaa have some videos on dealing with anxiety and depression on their @youtube channel.
- @mentalhealthamerica offers a bunch of self screening tools, stress tests and worksheets.
Set timers on your social media apps. Notice an increase in productivity, better focus, improved self-esteem and more time to spend with intention. Read instead of scroll!
Daily reading is a great healthy habit. (I recently posted a list of recommended titles on my blog if you need a rec.) Did you know, reading books increases brainpower, creativity, empathy, and emotional intelligence, reduces stress, and supports self-improvement!
Your body needs nutrients and vitamins to get you through your busy day. Don’t forget to eat! Lately I’m loving a lunch of sugar kiss melons, champagne grapes, avocados, crudités of radish and cucumber, carrots.
Get some exercise. I like to take long walks and practice daily yoga flows with @adrienelouise.
Set yourself up for a good nights sleep. A hot bath or shower can help you wind down! Dim the lights. Light a candle. Unplug your electronics. I like a spritz of
@therefillshoppe linen spray misted over my pillows.
At the end of a long day, be proud of yourself for doing your very best to take good care of yourself even though times can be tough! Remember that you are strong, loyal, bright, determined, loved.
